Getting here & parking

We’re on Chambersburg Street (the westbound leg of US-30 through downtown), just a block and a half west of Lincoln Square — roughly a three-minute walk, or about 400 feet, from the center of town. Most visitors arrive one of two ways. From the north or south, take US-15 to the US-30 / Gettysburg exit and follow York Street west through Lincoln Square; Chambersburg Street begins on the far side of the square and we’re a few doors down on your right. From the east or west, US-30 (Lincoln Highway) runs straight to our door.

There is metered on-street parking along Chambersburg and Carlisle Streets, and two public parking lots — the Race Horse Alley garage and the lot off Stratton Street — are each a short walk away. On busy summer weekends we recommend parking once near the square and exploring on foot; almost everything downtown is within a few blocks.

What’s nearby

Our block sits at the crossroads of Gettysburg’s history and its everyday life. Lincoln Square and the David Wills House — where Abraham Lincoln finished the Gettysburg Address — are a two-minute walk east. Steinwehr Avenue and Baltimore Street, with their shops and monuments, are a few blocks south, leading straight into Gettysburg National Military Park. Drive or bike a little farther and you reach Seminary Ridge, Little Round Top, and the covered Sachs Covered Bridge southwest of town. Whether you’re here for a full day on the battlefield or an evening downtown, we’re an easy walk back to a hot hearth dinner.

Make a night of it: tour the park in the afternoon, walk the square at golden hour, and land at our table for dinner. Reserve ahead and we’ll have your seat ready.

Towns we serve

Field & Musket is a downtown Gettysburg restaurant, but our guests — and our farms — come from all over Adams County and the York County line. We regularly welcome neighbors from Biglerville and Cashtown to the north and west, Fairfield to the southwest, Littlestown and McSherrystown to the south and east, and New Oxford and Hanover out toward the York County border. If you’re driving in from any of them, the fastest route almost always funnels through Lincoln Square — and we’re the first good dinner on the far side of it.
