Good to Know

Frequently asked questions.

Everything guests ask before a First Shot walk through downtown Gettysburg, PA — from dietary swaps to parking near Lincoln Square. Still stuck? The booking desk is a phone call away.

Let us know at booking (or email us 24 hours ahead) and we’ll arrange vegetarian or gluten-aware swaps at every tasting stop. We can’t guarantee a fully allergen-free kitchen at every partner eatery, so guests with severe allergies should flag it directly with our guide before the walk begins.
Most routes cover about 1.2 to 1.8 miles at an easy pace, with frequent stops to sit or stand while we talk and taste. All routes are on sidewalks and paved streets in downtown Gettysburg — no battlefield terrain — but comfortable shoes are strongly recommended.
Every tour meets at Lincoln Square in the center of Gettysburg, a two-minute walk from our booking desk at 5 Chambersburg Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325. Your confirmation email includes the exact meeting spot and what to look for.
The Gettysburg Transit Center garage on Carlisle Street is one block north of Lincoln Square and is the easiest all-day option. Metered street parking rings the square along Baltimore and Steinwehr, and free lots open up a few blocks out on Stratton Street. Arrive about fifteen minutes early.
Tours run rain or shine — Gettysburg’s covered porches and awnings give us plenty of cover between stops. In the rare case of severe weather (thunderstorms, extreme heat, or winter ice), we’ll contact you to reschedule or refund, no questions asked.
The downtown routes are flat, on sidewalks with curb cuts, and stroller and wheelchair friendly. A couple of partner eateries have a single step at the entrance; tell us your needs when you book and we’ll adjust the route or the tasting location so everyone is included.
Full refund for cancellations made at least 48 hours before your tour time. Inside 48 hours, we’re happy to move you to another available date instead of a refund, space permitting. No-shows are non-refundable.
Yes. Add the private group upgrade at checkout for just your party, or contact us directly for parties larger than twelve, corporate outings, and reunions. We regularly host visitors coming in from Hanover, New Oxford, Littlestown, and across Adams County.
