Getting here & what's nearby
Diamond & Ridge Mercantile sits right in the middle of everything that makes downtown Gettysburg worth a day. From Lincoln Square — the traffic circle locals call "the Diamond" — walk east on York Street and you'll reach our door in about two minutes. The David Wills House, where Abraham Lincoln finished the Gettysburg Address, is on the square itself, half a block from us. Keep the whole visit on foot: most of the historic district is walkable in well under fifteen minutes.
Walking distances from our door
- Lincoln Square (the Diamond): about 2 minutes / 500 feet west on York Street.
- David Wills House: under 2 minutes, right on Lincoln Square.
- Shops & restaurants on Chambersburg & Baltimore Streets: 3–6 minutes on foot.
- Steinwehr Avenue & the visitor-heavy south end: about a 12–15 minute walk, or a 4-minute drive.
- Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center: roughly a 6-minute drive on Baltimore Street to the Taneytown Road entrance.
Driving directions & parking
Coming in on US-15, take the US-30 (York Street / Lincoln Highway) exit and head west toward town — York Street brings you straight to us just before Lincoln Square. From US-30 east or west, follow Chambersburg Street or York Street into the square; we're on the York Street side. From the battlefield and the south, come up Baltimore Street to the square and turn east onto York.
There is metered on-street parking along York Street and around Lincoln Square, plus the Race Horse Alley parking garage a short walk away off Stratton Street. Weekends and summer afternoons fill up, so arriving before 11 am usually means an easy spot near the door. Order online for in-store pickup and we'll have your bag waiting so you only need the meter for a few minutes.
Make a day of it
Pair a stop here with the landmarks that ring the town: Seminary Ridge and the Lutheran Theological Seminary to the west, Little Round Top and the southern battlefield down Taneytown Road, and the peaceful Sachs Covered Bridge southwest of town toward Marsh Creek. Many of our products are named for these very places — the Round Top candle, the Seminary Ridge mug, the Sachs Bridge soap — so it's easy to carry a piece of the day home.
